Please forgive me if this has been talked about before.

I have an ISO file for a Navigation disc and I am having issues with the unit in my 2006 Escalade. I burn the image to a Dual Layer DVD+R. I am using Nero and it sets my drive to DVD-ROM for the book type. The image burns fine. When i put the DVD into my Nav unit, it takes like 5 minutes to read the disc. Sometimes the Maps come up, sometimes i get the "unable to read DVD, make sure it is not damaged or dirty". When i do get the maps to come up, within a minute, i get either "cd error" of the damaged or dirty error message. I just spent $20 on Dual Layer -R's and all i get is a cd error with those so that is $20 wasted. Please Help me!!! I dont want to buy one off of ebay. Thanks.

I am burning the .iso file i downloaded from the Net. The disc is version 7.3 and when i first burnt a copy of it, it updated my Nav system. It takes a while for my Nav unit to read the disc and sometimes the map does come up but within a minute or less i get the "unable to read dvd" while the map is still up. I just can't put in a destination or anything like that and the message does not go away. And the entire time this is happening, i can hear the unit trying to read the disc. Also, i have version 2 copy of a nav disc and i can't select a destination when i put that disc in. The map works fine but for some reason when i press dest, nothing happens.

ive had a lot of experience with this and i went through about 4 discs to get it to where it reads my dvd just as fast as the original i burned it from. I also burned mine from an ISO file i created when i had the original disc v8.3

couple things to keep in mind:
1. use the highest quality dual layer DVDs
2. write the disc at the slowest speed possible
3. have nothing else running (close all applications and processes) while you are burning the disc (this one is what really substantially increased the ability to read the disc)
