I need to replace bulbs in the front end of my 2005 ctsv. She has ~130,000 miles & bone stock. I don't drive her much, as I'm away from home a lot. First one fog light went out, then the other one. Shortly after, one HID went out. Before they left, I was noticing a flickering; it was intermittent & I couldn't link it to rough roads, rpm, etc. I've read that the flickering could be due to a ballast going south. Is there an easy check on the ballast? Since it looks like I'll need to remove the fascia, I want to get it right. I also want to replace all the bulbs so I won't have to remove all this again. I would like to go with LEDs (except for the HIDs). Have any of you made this change? Where did you purchase them? Plug & play? Part #s-especially for the parking light? (the small bulb that blinks when you use the remote).

Thanks

Appreciate the info in the threads, but I was looking for specific info. Is there an easy way to check the HID ballast? I need feedback from anyone that has changed all the front end lights to LEDs. Want to go with plug & play so I won't have to worry with added resistors. Satisfied with the light output increase in the high beams? Need part numbers for the bulbs not listed in the owner's manual. Don't want to make the mistake of getting bulbs that crap out in 2 months.

Thanks

Hi there, if you haven't solved the lighting problem yet, here is a couple of things I can recommend from my experience. As for the ballast, you can try swapping bulbs or ballasts to determine, what exactly went bad. That flickering can also mean relay harness problem on that side. But again, the only easy ballast verification method is to swap bulbs or ballasts. Now, as for the LED conversion kits, here is a couple of recommendations I've got. If you want plug and play installation, make sure the kit is listed for your specific year, make and model and the description says this is a direct replacement. Now, there is another thing you need to be aware of. The bulbs that you are buying should feature CAN-bus module (if no - the new bulb may cause that 'bulb out' error). Also, quality LED conversion kits come equipped with load resistors, which is important to avoid flickering (as that flickering occurs because of lower resistance LEDs have, compared to the regular halogen bulbs). Now, here are some LED conversion kit options we carry, they feature everything I mentioned above, so you may be interested in upgrading your lighting with our LED kits.
