My wife had been waiting on a Platinum to see the interior color in person, but then decided to switch to Kona, and she's pretty adamant about it. She'd had 9 years of black/black and it's time for a change. Does not want beige.

I found on in Texas, so I know they made them (I'm in Seattle) at some point.

I know the wait times have been long, and there were some production delays in Kona, but does anyone know what's happening with them now? If you can't order one, and there aren't many around, do I have to grab the first one I find at whatever price they're asking, or is there a better way?

Thanks!
Dave

if you are going to search for an Escalade anywhere, I would suggest SEWELL Cadillac in Dallas. they had about 300 Escalades in inventory, last item I looked.
I am in South Florida.
I was seriously considering placing my order with them if my allocation had not come through.
As far as I know they are one of the largest Cadillac dealers in the country, maybe the world.
Many Cadillac Dealers say they are the largest, but none seem to have the inventory of Sewell.
In your area you want to look for the largest city and search the largest Cadillac dealer's inventory online, if you want to deal relatively local.

The Kona leather is only available on the Luxury and Premium trims. Not available on the Standard or Platinum.

+1 for Sewell in Dallas.

To those looking for kona, I initially wanted it when one of my local dealers was selling his premium with kona with a $2000 up charge. The look was beautiful esp with the nice wood in it. Then I saw the platinum black on black. It would have been nice if it was kona but after seeing the black on black in the morning and the alcantara leather throughout, I'm sold on the black on black. It reminded me of my friends Lamborghini murcielago SV as well as his Ferrari's interiors, all in alcantara.

Sorry Dave

The Kona interior is only available on the Lux and Premium.

The colors for the platinum is Ebony and Tuscan brown.

If you really want the Kona, I would suggest downgrading the Premium. To be honest, you aren't losing much switching between Premium and Platinum. The Platinum is pretty much the Premium with extra things like better interior with alcantera, a cooler in the center console which all takes ups space in the glove box, subtle changing on the grill, and different rims. It's up to you.

I agree, Sewell Cadillac will more likely to help you.

I noticed the grille change in my platinum vs the premium. Besides the inserts is there any other difference? Like size, dimension, or the hood chrome? Because when I had my xpel installed, they thought they could use the precut ones for the premium but it would not fit the platinum hence they got the for platinum precut xpel.

Lot of differences and features between the standard and Premium.

Premium and Platinum is not so different. Platinum is basically a Premium with a few add ons like the cooler, different grill, different rims, and different interior options.

I am bummed Cadillac didn't add Dual exhausts in the new platinums along with heated/cooled cup holders. The 2013 Platinum I have now does have the duals and sounds amazing. Also they should have jacked the power up a little like 445-460 hp.

Completely agree with the fact that power should have been upgraded! At the very least, they should have upgraded the power from the Denali to the Escalade. Thank God GM made the interior a night and day difference because there isn't any difference in powertrain anymore. I can't imagine it would have been that difficult to squeeze and extra 25-30 horses out of that 6.2. Probably could have been done with an ECU remap. No hardware needed.

evois asked if there were any front end differences that made the clear bra cut outs not fit right and that was why I was saying the Standard model I believe is a little different than the Premium or Platinum for the cut-outs. Obviously I know there are differences inside a Premium vs Platinum but that is not what he asked.

They could add a supercharger. The programming seems reasonable.

The fronts grill are no different between the three, Standard, Lux, and Premium. I did the build your own Escalade and compared the three. The Premium has the cornering lights if you swap between the Lux and Premium.

Borla makes an official GM accessory cat back with dual exhausts. I have it on my 15 Platinum. The heated/cooled cup holders never worked, so im not surprised they scraped it.

To be real, I would rather have the duals come with it rather than me putting it. For my H2, yes I can do it or put a Magnaflow since no more Hummers are made and my warranty is done.

The GL I have now has heated cup holders, problem is that both sides have one temp rather than separate. Keeps my coffee hot during the winter time.
