this question is reguarding my taurus sho, but i was hoping maybe some one here would have some insight.

ok, my brakes have been locking up in the back, especially when they heat up. today i replaced the porportioning valve* that connects to the suspension. and that didnt really help they still lock up sometimes. when i move the porportioning valve it seems to lock up and unlock kinda randomly. its kinda wierd. they arent bleeding right. i have some ideas what it might be but im wondering what you guys think. anyone experience this?

*the porportioning valve connects to the body and suspension. the lines for the back brakes goes though it. i guess its for when braking hard and the back end starts coming off the ground, it gives less braking power to the back, so with the wieght coming off the back doesnt cause the back brakes to completely lock up.

Well, first off, Does your taurus have rear drum or disk brakes? A lot of times your E-brake adjusts the rear brakes, even if they are disk brakes. So what I would do first is press the E-brake a few times to the floor and see if that doesn't help it. If that didn't do the trick, I would go and check to see if the E-brake cable is stuck or misadjusted. If they are drum brakes I would remove the drum and see if the shoes have broken, or if the cylender is leaking. A lot of rear disk brakes require the use of a brake cube in order to bleed them. If they are disk brakes that require the brake cube and you didn't use the cube to compress the cylender you most likely have broken the cylender and need new calipers. If they are disk brakes, the problem is most likely stuck calipers.
