My parents have a 99 Eldorado ETC and have had a mechanic friend looking at the car, but he has yet to figure out the issue. After moving in reverse and then going to drive, the brakes are mushy when you first use them. It is only the first time you engage them, and only after going in reverse. Apparently when dropping the car off to be looked the car was almost to a stop and then did something that was as if the brakes let go and grabbed again quickly. They seem to be thinking it is something like the brake control module, and the car hasn't thrown any error codes as far as I know. Has anyone encountered something like this or have any ideas what it could be? I'm assuming the brakes...lines and such had been checked and didn't show any issues. Thank you for any input.
