Brake Pad revisited

Looking for owners who have had both the Carbotech Bobcat pads and the Hawk HPS pads. I am looking for the pads with the least amount of dust but with equal or better brake performance versus the stock pads.

Hawk HPS+ pads are definitely better and throw out less dust.

I have a set of HPS's

Hawk makres HPS (high perf stree), and HP+ (High Perf Plus). The HPS's will dust a whole hell of alot less than stock. Performance seems to be the same to me, but I defer to the hardcore race set for their evaluation.

The HP+'s will have high performance, but will dust more than the HPS's (they'll also be tougher on the rotors). I ASSUME that the HP+'s dust the same or more than stockers, but I don't have confirmation of that.

I'm very happy with the HPS's. I haven't had any fade at my last two track events (at least that wasn't caused by 'old' brake fluid) with the HPS's. They DEFINATELY dust a lot less than the stockers.

I read up on both sets since I am more than likely going to upgrade the pads when I upgrade the brake fluid. Both the Bobcat and HPS are close, but I am going to choose the HPS when I replace my stock pads. Less dust, maybe less noise, streetable, and tough enough to put up with a few track days....those were my guidelines. Plus a good amount of folks on this board have em and like them.

I've got HPS's on my car now. They are less dusty than stock, however are noisier. For the track I'm using Porterfield RS4's they are very dusty. Its nice though. I keep the RS4's on the rear when I leave the track and put the HPS's on the front. The dust is equal on all wheels now :)
I've run the Carbotechs on the track (XP 12 and XP10) and street (Bobcat) and would highly recommend them. Not too dusty at all and quiet on the street.

Feffman, are you the one currently running Endless?
For those that said the HPS are noisier.. What kind of noise do you mean?

I'm tired of having to clean my wheels after driving my car every time...

I put HPS on Saab 9-3 and the brakes squeeled (maybe just squeaked) for the first 1000 to 1500 miles. They were burnished in but still made noise.

With about 10,000 miles on them, the noise is gone and the dust is much less than stock. Performance seems about the same as stock.

Nevermind, that was Lunarx.

Shiznit. Endless seems like the solution or me.
