For all of you who are having problems finding those hard-to-find Bose amps .The junk yards are full of them. The late model (90s) Eldorado have them .They can also be found in Nissan Maximas .The only difference is the power rating .All the Eldos & Maximas are rated @100w and most Allantes are rated 80w but they "DO"work and the plug @ the amp is identical. The ones mounted on the 6x9s are also the same .only difference there is the mounting in the Allante enclosures. You can only use 2 screws instead of 4 .
Oh and I found another huge difference. $7.00 for speaker & amp versus $100.00 rebuild cost for amp only .
So you do the math ! And the amps are very easy to bench test too . All you need is 12v of power,a speaker & flashlight battery.
I hope I can save at least 1 person some money. I was very mislead on these amps.

To further clarify, some have the wiring soldered onto the amp, others simply unplug and are easily swapped out. If you read the decal on the amp, it tells you where to place it ( front or rear left or right) and whether its a cloth or leather interior. The cloth amps seem to be a "brighter" audio in a leather interior. I prefer to swap them in pairs IE front two or rear two. Early Allantes had 25 watt amps each for a total of 100. Latter ones were 50 watts each. Makes a great upgrade.

My 92 came with 80w. It's clearly stamped on the amps.
All of the amps I got out of Eldos,Sevilles,& Maximas are all marked 100w. They are all marked either front or rear but "none" indicate cloth or leather.
But I find that the 6x 9s put out a whole lot better sound but you're limited as to where you can install them.
Fold down door between the trunk & cabin is about the only place. And for the front, the front of the seats is about the only place.
I didn't want to cut any holes in the front so I detached the amps & mounted them behind the glove box and ran the wires under the console to under the seat.
Sounds really awesome to me but I could use a little more bass.

I also installed "4" amps & speakers on my HD Ultra Classic and WOW !
You talk about make a difference.

My experience with Bose amps is in the Allante era 87 thru 92. Every one of the Cadillac amps I pulled out of a wreck had a position, type of interior trim and body designation?

Hey Carnut, I'm not saying you're wrong. The ones I pulled out of my 92 Allante only had the position & power output on them.
I guess maybe it's because all 92s had leather interior.
Thanks for your info!
