It would be very nice if we could add a Boost gauge via a CUE update as an option for the instrument panel display. This should not be hard to do as I'm certain the system already talks to the ECU for MPG and such and it would only need to call another PID. Do you think you can make this suggestion? As tuning progresses it would be nice to have a Boost Gauge option as I simply can't see messing up the fine looks of my car by adding a gauge myself.

Thanks for the feedback, bravnik/FDNY-L107/Stevo Supremo! :) I can definitely understand your perspectives on the boost gauge, and I'm going to document this thread URL where the appropriate GM teams can review both the current feedback so far and future suggestions on this thread as well.

As always, if you have any CUE-related questions in the meantime, our Infotainment Customer Support Group is available at 855-428-3669 (Monday to Friday 8:00am to 10:00pm EST; Saturday 8:00am - 4pm EST).

I remember awhile back watching MotorWeek (I think) and they had a segment on the ATS. When the showed the DIC, they flipped through several menus. One was titled "Boost." After seeing this I scoured the internet, the owner's manual etc. and found nothing. My guess is that it was a pre-production car and the "Boost" DIC menu was removed for production. No idea as to why. I agree it would be a much-appreciated feature.

I have been mildly dissatisfied with gauge/information display with a couple of recent GM vehicles.

My 2014 ATS has no oil pressure display capability which I definitely miss from my 2008 CTS and other vehicles I currently and have owned. My new Corvette Z06 can display a wide variety of parameters with its configurable center dash display HOWEVER the Z06 loses the dedicated engine coolant temperature gauge from the regular C7 and has a boost gauge instead. The boost gauge is interesting but not as important as ECT which can be displayed in a few ways but none of the options are as easy to read at a glance as a dedicated gauge. Many display options are interesting including the G force "friction bubble" and slippage indicator for the electronically controlled limited slip differential but you don't really want to be watching either very much during the driving conditions when they are "doing their thing". The configurable pocket gauges which appear on the sport mode display are mostly useful although the horsepower gauge is another you don't want to watch when the engine is actually producing anything close to its 650 HP rating. Unfortunately engine coolant temperature is not one of the choices for the pocket gauges and the rotating dial display in the center of the tach is attractive but not as easy to read at a glance as other formats.

And while I am complaining I have to train myself not to rely upon the HUD in the Z06 during spirited acceleration. The weather finally got warm enough for the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires to have reasonable grip and I found that the digital display update in the HUD cannot keep up with rapid speed change but it does OK in the ATS.

In the grand scheme of things these are pretty minor complaints but a number of other Z06 owners have also expressed disappointment over the lack of a better ECT display and lack the lack of a boost gauge on the earlier 2.0T ATS production is another example of this customer disconnect.

I find the G meter in the HUD of my vette very handy. There were turns I was going what I thought was pretty fast until I learned to catch a glimpse of the HUD in the turn. I discovered I was running only around .75g. The next time through I upped my speed knowing I had more than enough grip left.

I can't use the HUD to shift in 1st or 2nd gear and I'm slower than your Z06. Even in 3rd, I still drop my eyes and rely on the tach. I do like the big gauges on the C6.

There's a guy in Michigan that can do it. He can do just about anything you may want. Automatic high beams, boost gauge in the D.I.C., watch DVD's on Cue through the memory slot, ETC.

Interesting. I'm driving to Michigan in June just a few miles from where he's located.

The G force meter in the HUD is very handy and the peak G force I have seen in turns matches the data shown when I run the PDR/video through the Cosworth toolbox software so it seems to respond instantly. The Pilot Super Sport tires need to be very warm to perform and there is a huge difference between almost warm and warm with their grip. They are much more temperature sensitive than the summer performance tires that are on my 2014 ATS.

Do you have the auto or manual transmission? I was a little disappointed with paddle response in the Z06 during early break-in but now that it has passed the 500 mile point I found the paddle shift is very responsive when used at high RPM and high throttle. But for fastest 0-60 the transmission in full auto mode still wins. I haven't tried launch control yet but I did hit a 3.31 0-60 without too much drama :)

Does the ATS V HUD provide the row of shift lights? If so those are more user friendly than reading the tach as you approach shift points.

I am still looking for a nice abandoned airport runway to try some full throttle operation :)

The ATS-V sounds like a really nice setup and since my daughter will be old enough to need her first car in a few years she may inherit my 2014 ATS so that I can upgrade to a V series. I did let her pull the Z06 forward a few feet last weekend to move it so that I could pull the ATS in place for its wash and wax but it will be a few years before Anna gets to take the Z06 out on the road. Currently she is very happy to be a passenger and thinks the new car is a lot more fun than a roller coaster plus it makes better sounds.

Rsingl,
Manual in my C6. When I test drove the C6 paddles, it didn't get the experience I was hoping for. After having test driven the Porsche paddles, I decided to stay with the M6.
