Hey everyone! New owner here. After spending hours researching this issue I realize that I am at a loss having my new-to-me STS stream my music via my phone WITHOUT having to add an extra cord of chaos to my mix. So my question for someone with more computer/electronic logic, if I was to upgrade my screen system to a compatible Apple car play interface, would I then be able to stream my music without an aux cord? TIA!

It can be done. Not by me but some have. LOTS more complicated than it used to be with other cars. Understand, your stock radio controls lots of things from your personalization settings to that little click you hear when the turn signal is on. You are correct that our BlueTooth only handles telephone and not music but you can connect a BlueTooth aux cord into the connectors inside the console (if yours has those connectors) and play music off your phone. Thanks so much for your reply! You really opened my eyes on this, I don’t want for other things to start messing up so I will not fix what isn’t technically broken. Darn it. I just came from a Charger and even tho my Caddy is a ‘12 it has EVERY feature that I got spoiled to in my Charger except the streaming Bluetooth. But I will adjust. 😊 Thanks again!

What if I upgraded my radio system to an updated Cadillac version, would that be a possibility? And does a newer version Bluetooth stream my music?

That's not an option, sadly. The way the systems work together in the car just makes it too complicated. The components are designed specifically for the car they are installed in.
