Hello Folks

My blower motor hasnt worked since I bought this 87 Brougham. Im getting 12v to the motor but it doesnt turn. Are there any other checks to make before I pronounce it dead?

Thanks

The ground connection for the blower is made through the power module. Try grounding the case. It floats above ground in the fiberglass HVAC box. Use heavy test clips or wire as the current draw will cook a small wire in a few seconds. If the blower works with the case connected to ground then it's time to check the power module. Easiest way to test it is by substitution.

Hey Ape Man
I did what you said. I grounded the fan and it started. Is there any way to rig the modual or is it time to go to the junk yard?

Thanks

Time for another module. No rigging without an engineering degree. You could jam a relay in it's place but the blower would always be on maximum speed.
