Does the side view mirror not have a little car symbol in the glass? I thought this was a standard feature on all trims, but maybe not the base?

 

 

I thought so, too, but there is nothing on the side mirrors - no lights, no symbols or places on the glass that could light up.

 

It’s standard on the premium luxury not the base luxury. It’s not even available as an option on the base.

I don’t know why the Luxury trim even exists. Blind spot monitoring should be required on all vehicles it’s no different than a backup camera.

 

I think they target lemo/black car services with the trim. Need the competitive pricepoint.

 

Same here. We just got one. I am kinda upset. Our is a ESV model. It is a long vehicle without blind spot indicators. Shame on cadillac.

And no sunroof. I would honestly take a Yukon Denali over a Luxury model Escalade

 

They just need to call it a fleet model and sell them for that purpose.

When a basic little Toyota Corolla comes standard with blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise ….. WTF are they even thinking leaving it off a luxury vehicle. It’s embarrassing really

 

Seriously, I was shocked at the fact that I didn’t have adaptive cruise. These are basic standard features. I can’t be mad though, we are in the midst of a chips crisis after all. I was also able to get the truck in 2.5 months of orderIng it. It’s all good.

I just bought a 2022 XT4, and realized too late that it has no blind spot indicator! Big Safety issue. The dealer says it cannot be added. This is a CADILLAC? What a downgrade. I am contacting the NHSA. Can’t believe blind spot inset mirrors or indicator lights are not mandatory. If you only drive on country roads, maybe not such an issue, but driving 70MPH on a busy interstate with no blind spot indicator spells disaster. I do have a “look in the backseat” alert though!

Checking in to see if anyone has traded in or discussed this with Cadillac? I’m still upset. I did read the window sticker but didn’t think to notice blind spot monitoring. My last four cars have had it, I just assumed it was standard. I cannot believe a 90k car does not have blind spot monitors and am very nervous driving on the highway.

 

I am not sure what there is to discuss with Cadillac. They clearly call out that the feature is included in the Premium Lux (it is one of the features you are paying for when you step up.) If their feature/order guides were incorrect... they would have a something to talk about. The Lux is a base model intended to hit a price point (which works for fleet sales.) You purchased a model that doesn't have some features... which means you didn't pay for them. Completely understand your frustration. Audi and other car manufacture dont' include side assist on base models (But you can usually add it with a package.)

 

If it’s that important to you, I would get rid of it & get one that does have it. While I agree a $90k vehicle should have it, Cadillac will not do anything for you.

 

Has anyone with this issue installed an aftermarket system? Looking at doing that for the same reason, completely overlooked checking for it not realizing it would not be a base feature...

 

wow, I didn't realize that it wasn't standard on the luxury. My almost base tahoe and then my ltz suburban even had this feature!

 

There is the issue. Luxury is base level. "Almost base" is not base and therefore has MORE than base. LTZ is way up in the trim range not even close to comparing a base vehicle. Comparing apples to oranges.

No $90k car should come without blind spot monitoring in my opinion. My base Escalade had it standard 6 years ago; they changed the standard offering. I sold mine to a GMC dealer and bought a Mercedes GLS.
