Hello the black plastic trim that goes around the car in between the chrome trim is old and faded a lot.....how can I fix the problem...A cheap fix will be great.

A pic just in case you can see what part im talking about.

The best thing around for plastic and/or vinyl inside and outside your car is 303 Aerospace Protectant. Clean the trim well with soap and water to remove dirt, and then apply 303. Let it sit and soak for a minute or two, and dry off. Do NOT let it just sit there - it must be wiped off.

About once a month, I do every inch of the rubber and plastic around the cars, including weatherstripping, molding, the kick panels along the door sill, and any interior plastic and vinyl.

303 protects against UV deterioration, dust, dirt, etc etc etc. Highly recommended.

meguiar's vinyl restorer (the natural shine version) works well for me. It penetrates well but as Jim mentioned, wipe/buff off any excess. It'll make your plastic parts nice and supple, with a realistic natural, dull sheen - NOT the artifical, shinier-than-a-new-penny look.
