I was trying to trace down a problem with my dome lights and stumbled upon a "Black Box" that is not OEM it has a db25 connector on it with an antena connector. The label reads SUN1926AA, Model 19391NAMSA. Any Ideas:hmm: ??

Thanks

George

Many new model cars come with black boxes. They are very similar to the black boxes used in planes. They record about 30 seconds of driving info (speed, breaking, what functions are being used) and then erase and record over themselves. The purpose of these is for insurance companies and police to tell information about what was happening with the vehicle at the time of the accident. Rental car companies regularly put them on there vehicles that are not already equiped with them.

That's the SDK which should be in the dash.

Yes the truck was purchased used. I found a cable that was also plugged into it, it was cut right where it came out from the center console.
Follow all the wires and remove them, they are probably for an accessory that was removed. Check the battery for any extra connections.
