BESTOP powerstep running boards?

I own an 07 with fixed running boards and envy the flush and clean look of those with the motorized set-up. However, i do not envy your problems which ive read about on the forum. i was lead on to research the BESTOP powerstep. Providing its a kit aside from GM's flaws im hoping that it has some sort of positive feedback with the escalade community.
what i fear isnt really the operation of the boards but any cosmetic flaws that i may encounter upon removing my fixed boards and installing their kit.
any advice would help:cool:

Your poll doesn't include "the GM ones are fine" which I think they are. I hear a lot of people point out the complaints on this board, but I think they are relatively few compared to how many people have them. And if they are on the vehicle from the factory, the warranty applies. I've never had any trouble with mine in almost two years and that includes two winters wwith lots of snow/ice and temperatures well below 0 F for extended periods of time.
I understand but my interest are for those who want to convert from stock to motorized.
I also have had the factory motorized running boards for 2 and a half years and have never had a problem myself.
Thanks for the lead on these steps. They look very cool! It's also very cool that you can add a light.

The install looks a little scary, though.
its not really the install im worried about its the cosmetic finish that bugs me. im affraid they may look out of place when installed where the fixed running baords once were.
The power running boards ice up in northern climates and scratch paint.
New problems here with factory power steps. You might be able to get pics of the exact running board installed on vehicles from that company you're looking at. I would also research the company that makes them for GM. Maybe you can buy a set directly.
I messaged them and was told that they are the vendor for caddy so the boards would be a direct fit. However, they said that there are no other colors and if I'm not mistaking the escalade's running boards have symetrical colored trim?
I have the motorized running boards and love them. Never had a problem. Would not want the fixed ones. I like the clean design.

Just my .02 cents.
i have fixed running boards on my truck, and its why i decided to buy that particular truck. I think the fixed boards make the truck look much better imho, and without them the truck looks that much higher. just my opinion, i love the fixed boards!

And besides, you never know with anything aftermarket. If it doesn't look right, you might decide to get the fixed ones back, and you will have wasted time and $$. If it aint broke dont fix it :)

I would save my money and buy a strut grill lol

Your right, there are just to many things that could go wrong here. It's ironic you mentioned the strut grille, I love the vale it just sucks cuz it retails for over $3000, WTF?!
