First, take off your air intake hose. Open the throttle plates by hand and with a rag, wipe off as much of the big stuff on the back of the throttle plate and in the intake as you can. Any stuff that does not wipe off, spray it with some of the cleaner. Start the car, and with it at a fast idle, spray some in around the throttle body. Expect a ton of smoke, so don't do this in any type of enclosed area. Spraying it with the engine running helps get any stuff you couldn't get with the engine off out of the intake, as well as helping to clean the intake runners, the backs of the valves, and the combustion chamber.
