The "auto" mode running off the floor doesn't supply enough heat for me.Is there a better way to get the heat up higher. What do you guys do?BTW mine is a 96. I took to the dealer and they said it wouldn't blow heat from the dash otherthan the windshield. Why? I thought this was a Cadillac,

The dealer is correct. Sevilles have a manual override mode where you can go to bi-level or heat from vents only, but the Deville makes that decision for you. Heat from the floor and cooling from the vents.

I live in Pittsburgh, I've been using the windshield only heat
on the top far right of the climate controls. I think the floor only
heat sucks. I almost want to sell the car over this.

Hey Loco,
Just don't get a Fleetwood, they give you even less control! All you have is auto, windshield, and temp up and down buttons. My Mercury Sable gives you full control over heat, I don't get it!

I'm also dissappointed with the heat controls in my 96 deville. I used to not think the heat worked until I cranked it up. mY 96 Fleetwood brougham was the same way, what an unthought through design.

I live in Wisconsin and the best thing that I found was remote start. I have a Valet alarm and remote start. It seriously goes from my office acrost the parking lot and heats up the deville to about ninety before I even get to the car. Plus the snow and ice come right off the windows and windshield( no scraping the crap off)

This is the only way to get around this really turn the car on about 5-10 minutes before and it'll be ready when you get inside the car.

If it's a good remote start system no damage will occur to the car no matter how many times u remote start it.

The ac compressor will run if needed in the auto mode, and most people dont know that the ac compressor runs no matter what in the front defrost mode, this is to dehumidify the windshield so the ac compressor runs to get the moisture off the windshield.

Many people ask why it is so damn cold when running defrost with temp set way down, now u know why.

In econ mode the compressor will never run.

I use econo mode on my fleeteood cause the vents hardly blow as it is. But yea crank it to 90. They should of made it when you hold the button to raise the temp or even lower it it would go faster. What were they thinking?
