I have tried a couple diff. phones for my 05 sts....Some either dont work at all, or work ,but are quirky( ex.Motorola Razr V3) It works for the most part..but sometimes not disconnecting properly or locking up to where the only way to get out of phone mode is to turn off the phone itself..are there any new phones out there that you have tried and have had great results with...what does cadillac suggest..Thanks in advance...

I have a Motorala V505 with Cingular service that works perfect! It is so easy to use.
Granted this phone is almost a year old now, and I got it when it was still AT&T wireless. Availability proabablly slim and definately not as cutting edge as a RAZR.

It varies more than just phone model. There are only three phones that cadillac "officially" recognizes as compatable. For Moto it's the V660. There are many threads on this and the general consensus seems to by YMMV. Some have Rzrs that work, others not. For some it's Trios or Nokia's or Erricson's. They are all over with one person saying it's perfect and another that it's not.

For me I have been through one Trio, two eric's, a Nokio and the V 550, 660, 710 and currently E815 on Moto's side. Some worse than others but none perfect. My 815 is currently with my car...

at the dealers...

where it's been since yesterday morning...

while they try to get the car to mute...and stop locking up...and well you get the picture.

GM is now blaming the phones saying they are not providing the correct "signaling" to the vehicle for pairing and/or mute functions.

So, whatever you try, make sure you can swap it out if it doesn't work with the vehicle. And if you catch a break and get one to work. Stop, don't touch it any further!

Best of luck.

I have a NOKIA 6620 phone and works perfect with my STS.
Once you set it up it works automaticaly, every time you enter your vehicle with your designated drivers key the phone lights up and ask you if you want to accept conection from the STS you simble press accept and you are done.
When someone calls you the STS screen lights up the music stops and if you have caller id you will see the callers id and phone on the screen and ask you if you want to accept the call yes or no.
once you press yes you talk to your caller, and when your caller hangs up the phone will disconect automaticaly within 5-10 seconds.
take care, theo

I like my Razr phone. you can get them fairly cheap now. Its compact and has a huge display for when you are not using Bluetooth..

If you search around you can find them with mail in rebates. I got my with a $200 rebate, so I actually made a $1.00.

Actually it is not working correctly if you have to do this procedure everytime.

Pairing should be automatic each time you enter the vehicle and manual acceptance on the handset should only occur the FIRST time you pair the phone to the car...

I am unable to connect Verizon XV6700 PDA phone to STS by Bluetooth. The phone and the STS discover each other but the STS does not accept the passkey. Calling data services at Verizon and tech support at Audiovox did not help. According to them this is not a "known issue". I would like to know if anyone else has been able to successfully establish a connection between the two or has any other suggestion. Treo 700 belonging to tech support guy at the local Verizon store also did not connect and had the same iproblem and he was wondering if this is a Windows Mobile 5 problem or there is some kind of compatibility issue between Bluetooth versions. Does anyone know what Bluetooth versions are in STS and Verizon XV6700 phone? According to Verizon guy, phone is 1.2.

Any help will be appreciated. It is frustrating and disappointing to buy a car for 65K and not being able to use the features.
