Headlights were getting where I could hardly see at night, so finally had them sanded, polished and then clear coated to protect them.

Very nice! I did the same thing to mine. I had a body shop buff out my headlamps (took about 1 to 2 minutes each) for free and then put 3M paint protection film on them.

So has anybody here ever tried the toothpaste trick? I saw some videos on YouTube about it. It seems like it cleans the outside pretty good.

Toothpaste is slightly abrasive. It will only remove the slightest of haze, and it's obviously not something you'd use to machine polish.

I did but Body Shop will be a better job.

Luckily I have a body shop and excellent body guy at my disposal, so I was able to get it done pretty easily, thanks for all the positive comments.
