Hey guys, its been a while...i died then came back to life...anyhoo....
Need your knowledge....
New radio would not work..purchased a nice one 6 months ago....
took back to radio dealer....stated that they only had to reset the radio, your car battery is going dead....
so i looked at voltage today....cold for GA lately...let car sit for 2 days...
went to start but checked voltage 1st = 12.0 volts (radio would not work - reset and it worked)
cranked it = 14.0 volts
drove for a few minutes voltage went to 14.5 volts
drove around town for errands and it went down to 13.8 volts (stayed there for the average)
battery is 6 months old, duracell from sams club, actual battery is the required battery for car

any advice or suggestions???? thanks ahead of time

11.5v! That's even worse. Now I DO have doubts about the battery. Did it start with 11.5v?

That does not surprise me at all. The ultimate bare bones test of a battery (and charging system) is the "engine crank/start" test. Since your battery passed that test you might be chasing a problem that does not exist.

Putting too much importance on one single value (voltage) can lead to faulty conclusions and wasted parts dollars.

Is the battery holding a charge? If you think there's something wrong forget what the car says take it back to where the battery came from or another shop and get it tested.
