Is the door jammed or is it because the battery is completely dead?? The remote unlock won't work either, of course. :hmm:

Any info on how to get it opened would be appreciated. Its a '97 catera.

You should be able to unlock the doors manually. I assume the key turns in the lock. Are the lock stems not rising? That's all I can think of. You might need professional help. AAA?

The doesn't turn in the lock. The stem nudges a little but doesn't rise. I don't want to turn it too hard and break the key off...would AAA help or say its a mechanical problem?

Spray some WD40 in the keyway. Wiggle the key CW & CCW to loosen whatever is mucking things up and try turning it all the way. You'll twist the key into a corkscrew before is snaps. I'm not sure about AAA but a locksmith will be able to jimmy the door open. A service call ain't cheap so try everything you can think of to get that key to turn. After you get it open you'll want to pull the door panel off and clean & lube the lock mechanism. While you're in there do the window regulator too.
