The grid lines can be turned on/off - manual pp 176 item #6 (some views don't have guidance grid lines). Dealer should have know this...pays to read the manual.

 

I agree, manual is a great reference. The icon to turn on and off the grid line is grayed out in my car but it was something that I specified at the time of order which prompted my call to dealer. They checked my vin and confirmed it was supposed to work in my car, which is why they are reaching out to GM. I’m really hoping this is something they can adjust by software update.

 

As far as I know the grid lines are on all that have the back up camera option. When looking at the screen with the back up camera on there is an icon 2nd from the bottom on the lower left of the screen. It can be touched to have the grid on or off - coloured line under icon lighted up = grid on.
If you are unable to select it 'on' then something is wrong.

 

When you put it in Reverse, look at CUE for the option to turn grid lines on or off.

 

I can see it but it’s grayed out and it won’t turn on.

 

Quick follow up for anyone having the same issue. After failed attempts by dealer to update software and hardware (video processing module), I was alerted that GM released a bulletin #PIC6472 on 9/14/2022. They are working on a fix but no repairs are currently available

 

Did anyone find out a solution to this? I don’t have grid lines on a brand new 23!

 

Hi - THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THIS! My dealer just told me that GM knows about this issue but has no timeline for a fix. We are not going crazy. There is no way to turn on the grid lines on brand new Escalades!! We need to raise the priority on this. It's too expensive a car to not have a fix for this.

Crazy they don't have a fix for it with a soon ETA. It's not like they don't know what makes the grid lines work and not work since it is on all recent MY Cadillacs.

I have the same issue. The dealer did an update to my vpm and said if it doesn't kick in over the next few days he'd order a new vpm under warranty. Brand new 2023 escalade sport...

 

Let me know if it works. It seems to be company wide issue with the programming. I think it’s the soft ware not the hard ware. But please keep us updated if it gets fixed.

 

Such an odd thing to be broken considering it has been working fine on earlier models.

I would be pretty annoyed if I didn't have grid lines on this car, this is the first car I have really benefited from them.

I have a 2023 Sport and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time it does though.

Me too. Got my 23 last Friday. No guide lines with reverse camera. Control buttons are greyed out and blue hour glass appears on the screen. Come on Cadillac. That is a pretty pricey truck for stuff not to work on day 1.

 

A while ago someone posted all the Twitter handles for the heads of GM. Maybe we should bombard them with tweets?!

 

I have the same issue. I purchased new in Sept and the 1st issue was they didnt connect the wiring for my rear door (so it wouldnt open) then they had no lines for the back-up camera. The dealership checked and it appears that Cadillac knows about it but they say its a programming issue and are supposedly working on it. I checked and there isnt any other information since Sept. So highly doubt they are "working" on it.
Kinda crazy to pay for a supposedly high end car and it doesnt have the simplest things that a basic car comes with....

 

I called GM complaint line and that did not do anything. They didn’t even know about the known issue bulletin. We need to get organized and come up with something here. Does anyone have any ideas?

 

Not sure what we can do to get their attention. Maybe send it to one of the news sites? You possibly could send them side tweets on Twitter? Not sure.

I just bought a 2023 Escalade and have the same problem. I need grid lines!

 

Took delivery on a 2023 sport platinum yesterday. I have gridlines but I’m experiencing another issue with the camera.

So far it’s happened twice since I took delivery. I put the vehicle in reverse and there will be no image.

The problem goes away after I lock the car for a few mins and try again.

Just wondering If anyone else is experiencing this issue. I wonder if it’s software or hardware related?

 

I agree with LawGuy that’s not normal. I would have that checked out. Mine hasn’t done that. As for the grid lines did you get the towing package? From what I have assessed it only isn’t working on those without the towing package. I wanted the towing package but it was on constraint when I ordered.

 

I've had my truck for 13 months now, and have NEVER seen this. Something is definitely wrong.
Sport Platinum as well.
I've had many other issues, but not this at all.

No towing package on mine. The lines disappear on occasion but I just have to select them on the screen and they come right back.

 

Isn’t your a 22? I believe this is only with the 23’s because if they added surround vision recorder.

I emailed this Cadillac Customer Service in this thread and they said they’re looking into it. I don’t feel too confident though. It seems like nobody has any answers. I don’t feel like it’s a high priority for Cadillac. I don’t feel like it’s escalating and getting fixed. Disappointed that not only did I have to compromise because of constraints and accept less than what I wanted but I received a vehicle that doesn’t even work right. You would think that since i had to accept less that they would work hard to make it right quickly. It’s been months now with no hint of progress.

 

I agree with you, this one is odd to me. It was working fine on 21's and 22's, and even seems to be working on newer 23's, but for some reason they don't have a software update for the ones that don't work in between?

 

Any luck from anyone? This has been an issue for me since September. It doesn't seem like anything is happening. I checked in with my dealership 3 times already and not a thing. Cadillac should be offering us something for dealing with all of this on 120k+ SUVs.

 

Im not sure if this will be a fix for the grid line issue but it did fix my camera system malfunction issue. Whenever the system will malfunction my cameras go out. The whole system not just the rear. Had to turn the car off let it sleep and then the cameras would work when I start the car again.

I guess there was an update for one of the ECUs. It's been 4 days since the fix and I haven't had any issues since. Before the update my cameras were malfunctioning at least once per day.

Attached is copy of the work order. Maybe this might help some of you if they can do a software update.

 

Very unsatisfied with customer service and GM employees lack of general knowledge in regards to this issue. This should get fixed immediately as it’s a safely issue. Fix it Now! No excuses!
