I stumbled across this STS, really good looking from what I can tell from the pics. But you can only tell so much from the pics, and seeming that its in Florida it would be a rather long drive from Chicago.

So heres the question has anyone purchased a car off of eBay? More preferably a Cadillac off of eBay, I checked this sellers feedback, its 100% but I rarely ever use eBay so figured I would ask over here hoping someone has some experience with this.

P.S. How do you know if there's heated seats in back? I know they say there is but on the rear console there's not control for it. Or do they go on when the front heated seats go on? And what is everyone's personal opinion on how the factory NAV system works? Is it worth hunting down to try to get all the way in Florida or is it just a toy that really doesn't work as well as it should?

Sorry for posting yet another thread, going stir crazy waiting to find the right STS/SLS/El Dorado. :alchi:

April 14th most likely, attourney is scheduling a case for bench trial, sick of continuing it just gonna hope the other side doesnt show.

I am myself live in Kane but the accident was in McHenry, sorry.

Its taken almost 3 months to even get into court to get my license back, I wasn't even allowed to post bond for it at the scene of the accident. And I really dont want to be driving on a ticket, so we are setting the case to bench trial. And since the ticket is a mistameanor the other party isn't forced to show so I just hope they don't. I just want my license back, I know you have to go through certain 'levels' of the legal system but this is taking a long time. When people I've know have gotten into accidents/tickets their licenses were not taken to their courthouse and kept there. They got a ticket and went on their way.

I don't know whats gonna happen we will see, sorry, probably more than you wanted to know. But yea I should be in your area sometime in mid April. I'll be looking for that white diamond DeVille DHS. :D

Oh, and whats your opinion on the car? And the NAV system within the car?

Thanks Ranger, get better internetz!

Open to anyone's opinions on the car, and stories about buying cars off of eBay. The thought of it makes me cringe but others say its fine, lets hear them stories!

Nice looking car - then again I'm biased becuase it looks just like mine, right down to the missing rear HVAC fan speed knob. I bought my STS sight-unseen, but not from eBay. Feedback ratings are great on this one and perhaps just as important, the seller has been using that account since 7/5/02.

Those pictures for the 02 STS with 18K miles on it look pretty fishy, notice there's only two. I just can't bring myself to buy a car sight unseen it may work for some but not for me.

I did notice he had been using that account since '02, also that he has 100% feedback, and I just noticed that eBay has a $50,000 reimbursement plan(don't really remember what its called) if this seller doesn't come through.

Thanks for the feedback and posts guys, helps me get a feel of whats out there that I'm missing.

Like I said I am not the poster, but Craig's List only gives you a few small, low-res pictures (it IS free). When I sold my Altima on CL I linked to a Picasa photo album with 30 high-res pics. True, the CL poster doesn't have a very good listing, not many details - but it DID peak my curiosity for the reasons stated earlier. You could probably learn a lot about the vehicle (and owner) if you emailed the seller and requested some high-res pics and more info - not only what he says but how he says it. I'll leave it at that. Good luck with your search.

I know there's a lot of these Sevilles available with low mileage but only 18k miles on an '02 STS for under $10k? I'm not the poster, but stumbled upon this:

That looks nice, only 18K wow thats low. I agree just email him and ask questions. Call and talk on the phone and you won't have to buy sight unseen. Go pick it up if its not what your looking for walk away. I did that with a Motorhome one time. Went out to WV to pick it up and was not happy, so I left. Just got a rental car and drove home.

The Crimson Red '01 STS has been on eBay for about a month or so (I check Seville's daily) so you could probably knock the price down a bit. The same guy also had a '00 STS like mine in Sterling a few months ago and it sold pretty quickly. Alot of dealerships are now using eBay as it's a great way to reach out to potential buyers. I would definitely call first; also, pull the VIN# and take it to a local GM dealership and get them to look up what has been done to the car. I did that after I bought my STS and was shocked and relieved at what had been replaced on my car.

Good luck!

I need to get my second job, and fast, so I can snatch up a deal like that knowing that I have the backing of a good solid financial income. But until then its me bringing car printouts to my parents saying 'can we check this one out?', hoping they will go and check it out with me.

Its driving me nuts, anyone know of any places hiring in the Northwestern Suburbs of Illinois? :D

Id also love to call my GM dealer up but the only problem is they are a Pontiac GMC and Buick dealer, not a Cadillac. Would they still be able to pull the records assuming that they ARE a GM dealer?

I want my STS! :crying2:
