Has anyone had message pop up in the driver's display "All Wheel Drive Off" ?
Happened to me earlier this month.

Driving on a typical snowy day, suddenly
lost traction and control on the road. Had to pull over cause the CTS was
sliding off the road.

Saw the message in the display and pondered what button I turned off or had
to turn back on. Read the owners manual and it said to see the dealer.

Saw a dealer. Dealer said no trouble codes
were stored in the computer. The AWD was working again. Caddy Tech
Support advised them "if two or more wheel speed sensors are covered with
ice or snow it will shut down the AWD system"
. Said they could not fix it?

So, I'm pondering this because I've had many AWD cars and SUV's, driven in
worse conditions than I was in. AWD never turned off.

Anyone have a clue on this, or is there a button to push to let out the trunk
monkey to clean off the speed sensors?

Have had extremely wet/slushy snow disable ABS and Traction Control on another vehicle previously (not AWD) so I'd say it's not out of the realm of possibility. In that case after I parked it at work, it melted off and was fine again when I drove home. Strange there were no codes stored however, mine read as two wheel speed sensor failures IIRC.

First time we had a big snow, I wanted to see just how much wheel spin there was with AWD in an open parking lot. Went to the lot and punched it. The car got decent traction and got moving quite well for the conditions. Decided to stop before I hit something as it was pretty slick in the lot. When I stopped, I saw the same message. I must have gotten snow where the sun don't shine in that lot. Drove off and it turned off rather quickly and never returned. I'd say the dealer may be right and it's just a hazard of enough snow.
