I recently purchased a used 04 SRX with the standard keypad with the lock, unlock, and panic button. On more that one occasion my truck has automatically started. There is nothing in the owners manual stating my vehicle has automatic start, but I know it does. I don't know the right combination of buttons to push. Again my keypad doesn't have a specific button to push to automatically start the truck. I've read that you should lock the door from the inside, wait for the chime and doors to automatically lock then its set, but to no aval nothing happens for me. Please Please help me! It's winter time here in Harrisburg and would love to warm my truck up in the mornings before taking my daughter to daycare, and I know she would appreciate it too. Please anyone if you have the same vehicle or if your a tech who knows my email is [email protected] I'm eager to know....thank you AJ

You probably have an aftermarket remote start on the car. Not a factory option in '04. Try to find the previous owner for how to work it.

Usually on the aftermarket system with a factory remote control fob
You have to hit the lock button twice and it should start. Or 3 times just depends what the user programmed. Also did you say it just starts up on its own. If yes then its programmed for cold start. Need to find the main unit so we can tell what kind it is for programming.
