Hi everybody!

When I shift from P to D mode Parking Brake usually release. But in 1 time of 10 tries this does not occur.
I mean that Parking Brake is removing before the start of the movement, but after shifting from Parking Mode.
This is a malfunction or there is some condition when it work? (I did not find any information about this in the users manual)

P.S. sorry for my bad english :)

According to the manual for my '14 (you didn't say what year you have) shifting from P to D will not release the parking brake unless you also attempt to move the vehicle. Maybe that's what you're seeing.

------------------------------------

Automatic EPB Release

The EPB will automatically release if
the vehicle is running, placed into
gear, and an attempt is made to
drive away
. Avoid rapid acceleration
when the EPB is applied, to
preserve parking brake lining life.

Thanks for reply. I have 2015 model year.
I suppose, that automatic release after shifting from P to D is new feature, but not described in users manual.
Maybe someone with '15 has the same feature?

Anyway, Parking Brake must always release or must always not release in this situation.
Feature is very comfortably, but when it work 9 from 10 times it is not good)
So, does anybody have SRX 2015 with this feature?

Yes and it works just fine. I bought my 2015 Base model in September.
When I purchased my 2010 (used) the salesman said just drive off and the electronic parking brake just will release
This does happen but I prefer to release mine manually.
I didn't realize that you don't have to manually release the parking brake. I just today read, on one of the CTS-V forums, that the electronic parking brake is useful for the 6 speed manual where some owners engage the electronic brake when they are stopped at a light so the car doesn't roll back before they proceed. I don't have that problem since there aren't many hills in SW Florida.
My 2015 has the same issue but with mine it is 2 times in 10 that it does not release the brake. I want to trade for yours.

Hi Superdog,

I can understand how this parking brake issue would be an inconvenience. Have you brought this to the attention of your dealership yet? If not, I would be more than happy to reach out to them on your behalf. If you are interested, please PM me with your VIN, mileage, dealership name, and personal contact information.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Austin J.
