Got in the car today in bright sunlight and noticed the tiny lights on indicator was lit up on the dash. After changing the switch to OFF and back to Auto ON, they would always stay on in sunlight. Sometimes the info notice in the dash would say OFF even when the switch was in the Auto ON position (with lights on) and after several moves of the switch the dash notice would finally return to Auto Lights ON. They do turn off when the Auto switch is turned OFF, thankfully, but does anyone have an idea why all of a sudden the Auto ON causes the lights to stay on during daylight?

A failure of the ambient light sensor would keep the lights on in Auto mode during daylight hours.

Is your wiper switch up in the rain sense mode?
Well yes it was! Thanks! I had it washed and detailed and apparently the worker moved the stalk during the interior cleaning which I didn’t notice or even think about. The stalk was up one position and the delay circle was up all the way.
