Auto Cooled Seats

Well, it's been getting pretty hot out here in Cali. 106 degrees last week! I have noticed that when I remote start my vehicle, the cooled seats do not come on. I have checked the settings to make sure they are turned on for auto start & they are on. I have also tried turning them off & then on again in the settings but they still do not activate. They come on fine when I turn them on manually but do not activate during remote start. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,

Max

So the heated/ventilated seats are designed to turn on during remote start as long as each function is activated in the settings menu. When it's cold, the heated seats do come on during remote start but when its hot, the ventilated seats are not activated during remote start but they do turn on if I turn them on manually. As for the steering wheel coming on during remote start, I know my year does not do that but I think it started doing that on the 18 models.

Wow TohperS! Thank you for your reply! I think you solved my problem! Taken directly from the owners manual.

"During a remote start, the heated or ventilated seats, if equipped, can be turned on automatically. When it is cold outside, the heated seats turn on, and when it is hot outside the ventilated seats turn on. The heated or ventilated seats are canceled when the ignition is turned on. Press the heated or ventilated seat button to use the heated or ventilated seats after the vehicle is started. The heated or ventilated seat indicator lights do not turn on during a remote start."

I could swear that the heated seats stayed on during winter once I started the vehicle but I wouldn't swear on a bible! lol I was used to my STS that when I used my remote start the heated/ventilated seats were activated & then stayed on after you started the vehicle. What did annoy me about it was that the heated/ventilated seats came on "medium" instead of high so once I started the vehicle, I would always have to cycle through to high which annoyed me. At least now, I just have to hit the button once & it is on high! lol

I have never paid attention when I first get into the car before I start it. I will have to try that & see what lights come on. There is a setting in the settings menu that activates the heated/cooled seats but not one that keeps them active once you start the vehicle. I guess the car decides that! lol I was perusing through the 18 manual to see if I noticed any differences & as for the keeping the heated/cooled seats on after starting the vehicle, it says it "may" keep them on. I like how it's subjective! lol I also noticed that if you have adaptive cruise control, there is a way to disable it & make it like regular cruise control. It is not something that I would use but I know there are a lot of people that would like that feature!
