Audi S8 V10 450hp




The all new Audi S8 is powered by the same V10 engine that runs in the Lamborghini Gallardo, tweaked of course to fit the S8.

I must say, the Audi S8 was the one thing that made Transporter 2 a watchable movie.:lildevil:

That was a W12 in the Transporter 2. 410hp from a V10 seems pretty low for an Audi, especially since the new S4 makes over 400hp from a V8. The S8 is also a very heavy car. I think it would have benefited from at least 500hp.

wow! thats my favorite foreign luxury car (A8 & A8L) and then they make a hi-po version of it. But it's rather dissappointing when you consider the A8L W12 model has 444hp, and this one was only 6 more. I agree with danbuc, it should have as much hp as, or more hp than the Mercedes Benz S600 at 493 hp.

From 1997 to 2004, the Audi A8 has been my #1 favorite luxury car. I've sat in it & driven it, and I would take it above all else, under $90,000. BUT when they stuck that new cow-catcher front grille on it ~ they lost me!!
That front snout is horrid! So, I've switched & made #2 now #1. Jaguar XJ Super 8 does it for me now. Elegance, Sex, Wealth & speed all rolled into one class act.

No No No to Chrysler 300C front end!! Go back to a slightly reviseed 2000-2004 front end.

I wonder what the projected cost will be? If it is anything like the previous generation, they will be overpriced and take a huge hit in depreciation.

I still remember sitting in the theater in 1998 with my family watching Ronin, I fell in love with that S8, especially since it was a Euro-spec with a manual transmission. :thumbsup:

The W12 sports 420 hp and 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. It does not have the aggressive sports suspension or ground effects like the S8..

And its front end and everything else looks great (normal)!

Despite their problems, I'd take an A8 or S8 over a similar lineup from MB or BMW. However, I don't care for the new front end. I've always loved this car, almost as much as my STS.

I want them to come out with the next RS6 already. The last one was a beast, and the new one should be even more crazy. On a side note, as far as production V10 engines in cars right now, I think Audi has one of, if not the lowest output V10 (other than Ford, but the Triton V10 is a truck engine). The Viper and M5/6 both make 500hp, so why not the Audi. They could do it if they wanted to, so why not? That's what I don't understand. To me, the S8 seems like an under-achiever, as far as V10's go. I would rather buy a Turbo Diesel A8.

Well I'm guessing that they don't want to tread on Lamborghini's toes since the Gallarado uses a V10 that only has 500 hp
