Fellas,
With about 2 weeks left finally, i'm looking into my options when I get back. I am heavily leaning towards a stroker, anywhere between 383-414ci. There's no replacement for displacement right? There is a guy here who I "talk cars with" a lot and told me it would not be a wise decision to convert my ls6 with a stroker kit / bore out the block because the aluminum block of the ls6 isn't best suited for a stroker set up. He said it can be done, and shouldn't cost too much, but is this a correct statement? If not, should I just go with an eagle or lunati stroker kit? I haven't found any others out there. I honestly have no clue.
Or if that is a correct statement, what should I be looking for in a small block, used, or new, and from where? should i be looking at an ls3?
I am pretty set on a stroker as I love the way they sound at idle with a nice cam. I have read that a 383 would eb better than a larger setup, i.e. 414 for FI down the road? Also, I'm no guru with internals either, so I wouldn't have the slightest idea as what to get, i.e. cam and specs, heads (afr/trickflow/gmpp), and anything else other than stuff that is forged.
I'm also not sure which company's make the best products for this type of setup. And if W4M ever gets us more info on the tvs systems, i'd probably slap that puppy on too!
I'm probably going to try and call EPP and see what they say about it and see what they might be able to do.
When it's all said and done, I want to comfortably put 500hp to the pavement. Is that feasible? what kind of ballpark figures am i looking at to do such a conversion? i'm trying not to spend more than 6-7k if need be, the cheaper the better of course, but i won't sacrifice quality and reliability just to save a few bucks. I know ctsv154 has this type of setup w a maggie and it looks pretty impressive. Anyways, any helpful info is greatly appreciated.
