Hey all,

I just bought a CPO 2016 ATS V. I sold my 16 Corvette for it! I hope I don't regret it haha

I am having an issue with my Android Auto. I can connect and project but I cannot hear music. I can hear phone calls but spotify and other music apps do not come through.

I've tried reinstalling android auto, forgetting the car/phone and restarting the phone. Just to note, there is no USB port in the hidden compartment like I thought there was supposed to be.

Not sure what's up. My 16 Corvette never had an issue and my 19 RAM has no issue either.

Any help would be appreciated!

Don't know how to help you. I think the Android APP is very unstable. The bluetooth version of Pandora fights with the patch cable version that Android Auto brings up. You can shut off the phones bluetooth but the car will turn it back on. The system does not always boot up on car start. And now.....my phone randomly activates Pandora on it own. And when you go to the 'active apps' page, it's not shown as open. You have to open Pandora, then close it. Don't ya just love technology!

I haven't had an issue with my '16 but I do have the USB port in the hidden compartment. I can't confirm that USB port works because I just use the one in the arm rest compartment. I know at some point my car was upgraded with the newer Cue system. I would try deleting your phone profile out of your car and delete the car bluetooth off your phone. Restart your phone, start Android Auto and plug in the USB cable to the car. Let it do the pairing that way and see if that helps with the audio. Could be the BT in the car is trying to fight with AA.

Unfortunately I've already tried that.

I wonder if they upgraded mine to the new CUE?

Android Auto works perfectly in my 2016. I previously had intermittent Android Auto problems where it would become laggy, totally non-responsive, or just quit entirely and not want to reinitialize without rebooting my phone. I initially suspected the car but the issues were 100% due to my old slow Galaxy S5. Got a new phone back in January and it's been perfect since and hasn't had a single issue.

You've already tried what I would suggest... uninstall AA and unpair from BT in your phone, and then reinstall AA and relink it and re-pair BT. You may also want to try a different cable just to rule that out.

Also, make sure you fiddle with the volume in the car; there are multiple volume levels depending on the source that is currently playing-- car's head unit for radio/XM/nav is one volume, bluetooth call volume, BT audio volume, and finally Carplay/AA volume. Depending on what source is currently playing the volume buttons in the car can control something different, so make sure AA is actively trying to play music while you're adjusting the volume and it isn't muted for some reason (the end call button on the steering wheel will mute other audio sources as well, and you can unmute by either hitting end call again or hitting volume up.)

Besides trying a different cable, have you tried a different phone? Just to rule that out...

If you have the Projection icon on your Cue which you do, then you have the newer Cue. The initial run of 2016's didn't come with that and Cadillac offered an upgrade free of charge for owners who wanted the Android Auto and Apple Car Play.

The phone is pretty new, a Pixel 2XL, so it shouldn't have issues. I will borrow a friends phone to see

When I try to change the volume with AA music playing I actually get no volume adjustment ability at all

Wasn't there supposed to be a CUE changeout that also added the USB port in the hidden compartment? Or am I crazy?

My old Nexus 6 and my new Pixel 3 XL work fine in my '16. I wonder if you happen to have an early '16 and need the AA update from Cadillac.

I believe I have it since I can see the projection icon and can see Android auto in the settings.
Agreed but I paid to have an additional update installed even though mine was working fine. I had an issue where the screen went blank while playing Pandora through AA and the attempted fix was the update. Other than that, it would seem to be a CUE problem.

I also had this issue. When the phone was plugged into the car I had to adjust a separate media volume control on the phone for usb connections.
I'm not sure what that would be. Mine works in other cars. I checked all my volume settings.

I don't think the car is recognizing it as a media source because I can't even move the volume slider in the car

I believe you have to have the cable connected to make it work I know on my
Android Auto it will play music through Bluetooth but if I want to use
Android Auto I have to be plugged in to USB unless I have a IPhone then don't need USB.
