So i'm thinking of adding the ASP 25% UD pulley as my last true "bolt on" power adder, as I don't have the funds to do a cam or anything internal just yet. I'm hoping with this i will gain about 10whp, which will land me at right about 390 or a hair less, I'm at 378 now (Dynojet). I just have one question, I heard that since I have a 500w amp powering my dual 12" subs, the alternator may not be able to keep up powering these, now that it is spinning 25% slower. Has anyone running the pulley experienced problems with this?

Thanks for the input guys, i won't be going this route then. Next step is cam then I guess, but with my motor having 80k miles, itt'l end up being a whole lot more than just a cam, wonder if it's worth it...

i have a 25% UD pulley on my trans am. havent had any problems. on the ls1 cars this mod is good for 9-12rwhp on the dyno, what is the reasoning behind not gaining a similar number on these cars? has this actually been PROVEN on the dyno?

I would not install any underdrive Harmonic balancer on an LS engine unless it is an ATI. Do yourselves a favor and spend 30 minutes or so on LS1 tech reading the great articles about the lack of balancing harmonics by the after market under drives. The ATI was specifically designed during the C5R project with a designated special durometer rubber. The ATI design is a result from timing chain failures from harmonic vibration on the crank snout. I had an ASP on my LS6. Cost me a timing chain and 16 new valves in my Trickflow 215 CNC heads. I went back to stock. Later installed the ATI 10% under drive. The biggest power benefit of the ATI 10% underdrive is its much lighter weight and very good at balancing out the harmonics.
