I own a 1989 Cadillac Sedan DeVille that is in 'good' condition, motor runs great, rides smooth like a Cadillac should. I bought another car that is WAY better on fuel mileage so I looking to sell my beloved Cadillac.
I am trying to figure out the best way to sell this car..... Should I sell car as a whole? Or should I sell the v8 motor? Or try to part it out trying to sell off parts?
I am asking you all for advice on how to proceed with selling the car for the best value.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Sell it whole.
Parting a car leaves you with a hulk in your yard for little monetary return.
Where you're located makes a difference; urban gives you better potential buyers.

An '89 Deville is not worth very much. The EASIEST way is to sell it. "Best value" would be to part it out, but disassembly, advertising and shipping is a lot of work. Then also consider that there is not a lot of people looking for parts for a car that old.

If you can itemize on your tax returns, donate it to a national charity and use the estimated private sale value as a tax writeoff. An '89 is not "worth" much at all.
