Wifey Mentioned Virginia the other day. didnt say she wanted to move there just asked how would I feel about moving there. I moved from New York way back when. I live in Ga Now. I cant remember what Virginia was like when I visited there because I was to young.

Whats the weather like in Virginia?

Does it snow often in the winter?

How hot does it get?

Are the Jobs plenty full? That probably shouldnt be a probelm I hope.

are there any weather threats like they have in Florida?

Used to live in Blacksburg VA (Virginia Tech!) for 4 years.
I looooved it. I am a city person born and raised but was shocked to see how much I loved it there.

The weather varies from where you are, blacksburg is in the mountain so pretty nice. We got a little bit of snow but not much. Summers are fantastic but kinda humid. Places like Richmond/newport news etc are CRAZY humid.

VA has everything from ******* backwoods to urban metro (NoVA-northern virginia...bascially dc)
I live in Southeast VA, Chesapeake, VA Beach. We are very isolated weather wise due to our proximity to the ocean. It really limits our extreme. While I have seen snow in my 8 years it's very limited and never lasts more than a day or two with zero accumilation. Think of VA as just like GA only more teeth per head, you can't marry your cousin (1st cousin anyway), the dirt is black not orange and the schools are awesome. :lildevil:
Oh yeah, in my area there were tornado warnings once in a while, but never seen one actually cause damage

There are alot of flash floods though.

Jobs, hard to say, what do you do? But you can find one I'm sure.....moneywise should be similar to GA.

Does that mean you're a 'five o'?

Hell if thats the case, ofcourse theres plenty of jobs......move to a sleepy hollow somewhere and your wife should be relaxed....only thing that happens are drunk college kids and the ocassional deer/car accidents. Ofcourse there's the moonshine and pot growing industries you could ignore/hunt down....your call :)
I live in Rocky Mount. 25 miles south of Roanoke. I'm near Smith Mountain Lake which is becoming a very prestigious area. Houses on the lake start at 400,000+. I'm originally from NJ, so there was a huge culture shock. If you want big city life, avoid the western side. Moneywise, it is not great. Jobs in my area are scarce. V
I'm in northern Virginia, just outside of D.C.

Best way to describe it is "full range"... Hot in summer, cold in winter...

I wouldn't really say it snows often... You can go an entire winter with little to no accumulation or you can get 8-12 inches in a single snowfall...

In the middle of summer it can get to 100... It's the humidity that makes it bad... 90+ degrees and 100% humidity is miserable if you ask me...

Around this area they seem to be... At least in my field, automotive service...

None that I can really think of...
I live in the Hampton Roads area right now, originally from the Roanoke area and totally different from the northern area, it's like 3 different states, depend on where you're lookin'. What all these guys said is dead on, especialy the Rocky Mount growth thing, most IT jobs are in Reston, Alexandria or Hampton roads, I can tell you that, but if you're a cop, er, officer of the law, Roanoke area is probably a bit safer and less crap to deal with. Is a bit of a growing oxycotin and herion population in the trailer parks, other than that very few shootings and robbery's just addicts who need there heads slapped. In the neighborhoods Rocky Mount was talking about it's wild, NJ guys and ******** next door nieghbors, ya gotta love it!
Some of these people have cross-bred. We got a Mercedes' cars parked next to a 1980's trailers. :bonkers:
My dad always said

"Virginia, where the cars are on blocks and the houses on wheels."
