I saw a tech tip on how to improve the performance of the RKE (Remote keyless entry) for a De Ville which involved removing the rear seat back to access the module. It had short wires that apparently can be easily lengthened to greatly improve the sensitivity to the remote. I have the same problem with my 97 SLS and would like to try lengthening the antennas on the module. My problem is how do you remove the seat back? On older cars, the rear seat could be pulled out easily revealing bolts to get the back portion off. I'm afraid to try it now with leather seats. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!
