I've got an appointment in the morning (3/17/15), for that issue..

I'll let you know when I get my car back..
Had it done last week. Switch is slightly recessed hardly noticeable. Am trying to post a pic but app not cooperating!
a lil out of topic but my dealer said they would call when the part arrive to replace the sunroof thing under recall. it has been 2 weeks! 2 weeks to ship the part is surprisingly long, dont ya think?

I would guess it's one of two things:
1) They said they would call when the part arrives, but it wasn't ready to be shipped yet so it wasn't going out the day they talked to you and they weren't sure when it would be shipped
2) The parts are in, but they haven't gotten around to calling you.
Im tired of my car being taken apart and put back together.
I have new squeaks and rattles that are clearly due to things coming apart and going back together, usually by a tech who don't give a crap. (seatbelt, CUE headunit, etc)

I'll put this one off for a while...

I had the replacement done about two weeks ago. I agree with John223, its only slightly recessed. I hardly noticed it. Between the switch fix and my oil change service my car was out of the wash bay by 9:30 am (I dropped it off at 7:00 am). I haven't noticed any difference before or after the switch fix on the sunroof. Hope this helps.

me too. I have no problems with it the way it is now and cant figure out why its such a "safety" issue.
interesting, my passenger seat belt buckle makes noise. wondering if this is because of the coming apart and going back together. i have to buckle it up at all times to keep it from being noisy

My car has been affected by just about every recall so when I got my car back for that engine piston misfire one, I checked he mail and received yet another recall for the switch. Ugh. At least they're doing something about it unlike Honda and their airbag fiasco.

Anyway, it doesn't seem like a serious issue so I'm going to have them take care of it maybe next month when I need an oil change. Hopefully someone will post before and after pics for the curious.
Made appt a week ago for today. Schmuck dealership did not have part. I did get a decent srx as a loaner. Buy what a piece of garbage compared to my ats. Handling sucks! Compared to our x1.
Honestly, this is first service on ats. Im not impressed with dealer in north nj. Good thing i did not buy here.
After 10 years with bmw, im really disappointed with the service thus far.

Which North jersey dealer is it??
A cadillac dealer. Lol. Not important which. Gonna give them a chance to recover. But i got my money on them screwing up. Something tells me when cadillac opens nyc office ill be emailing the ceo telling him how bad it is And how they deserve to get smoked by the germans. We will see.
I got the recall notice yesterday, but I've decided I'm going to skip having this one done. I just can't even imagine how this is a safety issue, but I can imagine the dealer scratching something or leaving a rattle behind after "fixing" it. This is a really stupid recall.

After pic...not the best photo though
Thanks for the photo! I can't really tell the difference. Are the buttons just more flush with the plastic now? That area rattles when I hit bumps sometimes as it is so perhaps replacing that area will help with that in some way.

I notice rattling coming from inside the steering column when going over some bumps, too. Of course, it cannot be replicated. Oh well.

LoL. It is cute! My Cadillac dealership says no loaner car, and last time I dropped off my ATS, they made me share a ride with a loud, smelly drunk guy!
That's because Cadillac in Hawaii is run by a shitty General Manager....that dude used to cower when I came into the dealership. Specially when I put his ass on the line...
I had this done the other week along with a free oil change and fixing my speaker rattle in the rear. They fixed the speaker rattle and what an awesome difference now.

As far as the sunroof I could not even tell, I can't even remember what it used to look like and there are no signs that anything was removed and put back, my dealer did a nice clean job!
Do they just replace the insert that the sun roof switches are in or the entire piece (I assume that's what they do)? I'm also assuming they just reuse the internal components.
