Im talking land line kids ....

Check this out , here in the tampa area we have 2 area codes , 813 and 727 ...now depending on what side of certain streets your on you may have to dial 727 ,813,1-727,1-813, or no area code. Without a zommed in map you have no clue , so i ususaly end up trying all 6 before i get a option that will allow me to dail thru ....

If that wasnt bad enough the phone here at work requires a 9 dialed instaed of an 8 if we need to put in the area code ...so add 12 more possibilites ....

to dial one simple number across the street you have to guess correctly out of what looks like 18 possible combonations ...

i hate telephones , faxes , and cellphones with a passion ....and i hate my job ......between faxing calling and mailing evelopes ...then there is long periods when i have nothing to do...(why im here so much)..stuffed in some cube in a dark corner ......anyone remeber milton or whatever his name was on office space ? thats me .....

to think 3 years ago i was in charge of over 10 firetrucks overseas in a top secret location....now i stuff envlopes and cuss out the phone company between periods of twiddleing my thumbs.....LOL ....

wheres my damn stapler ....

LOL! Milton! Damn man that sucks! I dial out to different contries all over the world at work and its not that complicated! I would love to be back in the bay area, i really wana go to McDill after my time in japan. Ah to be on an airforce base, they are soooo much nicer then marine bases, great food too.

 

yah we had it good in the ol chairforce ....we had marines stop by in the desert for a few days en route to the front lines for endureing freedom ....

you kids wore out my PS2 controllers ....id be set up every night smoking my cigar , playing GT3 and here the marines would come in "hey man can i play?"......"shit yah dude pull up a chair" ...the smack talking and everything was great ...next day theyd be gone .....a couple came back thru a second time ....but i never saw most of them again ...

between the playstation and food they were happy for 24-48 hours in the AOR

You could not have called this situation much better. The phone system here in Florida is more screwed up then any I have ever seen. To top it off this was the wrong day for this topic and me.:want: I have had no incoming or outgoing phone all day. This is a problem that they are aware of and trying to fix.:rant2: So now I just wait and burn the minutes on cell phone. It isn't looking so bright in my house today. Good thing the Roadrunner is still working. Who knows I should knock on wood Because that could be next.

 

I always keep a couple of staplers tucked away as spares. I don't want to turn into a 'Milton'!

 

oh belive me ...verizon is infront of my house laying fiberoptic for the new "fiber to the premise system" ....they have there marks to dig lined up with my Sewage outlet pipe ...i told them it was there ....they didnt make any note of it ......


speaking of bright houses ......whats the deal with the screwy picture on channel 8 ?i asked them about it ...there all "everyones is like that" i told them "does that make it ok ?" they claimed there working the issue ....

 

hey maybe we should have our meet at the phone comapnys doorstep .....with a multi member middle finger salute to the jacked up phone system .....

ok heres another one ...why is it when i forget to dial 1 the nice robot lady tells me what ive done wrong ? if there equipemnt knows i forgot to dail one and ment to dail one why dont they do it for me instaed of telling me to "please dail one then the number" you bastards know what im trying to do !!!!!! im trying to make a call !!!!

LOL....Thats a great idea!! On the other situation why do we even have to dial 1. It is so bad. You can call 5 blocks away and need to put in 1 (area code), but 20 miles away doesn't need the one. Makes no sense.:rant2:

yah i mean whats the deal , i can call my house 40 miles from here and only dial 813 (NO ONE)...now if i call 10 miles south of me i have to dial 1 727 ...yet where i am calling boath numbers from is a 727 area code ...... :banghead:

I remeber when my tranny blew out , i tried to call the tow truck witht he phone ....wouldnt get a signal ...and i was looking at the cell antenna ....luckily i have my getto cell phone , a pair of nikes and a quarter

You'll start going places when you finish school. Thats what your there for. You are still young and have plenty of time. Don't Rush. I wish I would have finished school. I could probaly go back but its just one of those things we think about but never do.

 

just whats needed to get a AA degree ......which in mycase was tons upon tons of math .....i tested so low that even taking a full load(and then some) for 2 years stirght i still have 9 more months to go , most can finsish in 1.5 years it will take me 2.5 years.....

5-6 classes a semester with no breaks for 2.5 years ...im getting tired ....and its for a degree that when combined with a dollar might get me a cup of coffie ...

to think i have years to go till i can fishin with a degree in jorunalisim it kinda insane .....

coarse spending 4 years after highschool earning my own money to putmyself thru college makes it seem longer ...

all told ive spent the years since 1998 for college ...7 years is a long time .....

I did my share of parties so I really can't relate, but I don't have my degree. Only 1 1/2 years of credits. Which does me no good.

when i lived in fairbanks all the pretty girls worked at the "bush club" there in ancrogige (or the local fairbanks club ), the girls stripped there way to (in some cases) doctorate degrees....the best place int eh world to earna lviging stripping is alaska , they pay to import girls !!

belive me i was a whore to get my college money , 4 years in the airforce ...left with my MGI bill money , disability ,one messed up back ,and a collection of ulcers that would make the guy that runs GM right now proud ...
