hey guys.,
i have a '97 eldorado, and I want to do a map light mod over the center area of the ceiling, so i can have a map light shine down on the driver and passenger side..
has anyone done this ?
what maplights did you use for it?

i tried an overhead center console from the same era of a deville, but it did not fit..

i guess i might just install some oem general purpose map lights that they sell in the auto parts store.. ,but i thought i would check and see if anyone has found anything a little classier looking for this.

there just is not enough light from the standard side inside lights on the eldorado.

I purchased a $9.99 Energizer lamp with 3 LEDs. It's a Tri-clops: 2 white beams with projector lenses, and a red one in the middle. It straps to your forehead.

It is LED, so batteries will last forever. Why don't you try adapting it? It has a narrow, focused beam, and available "red" lighting for night time. Pretty small, bright, inexpensive--no wiring. It doesn't look bad either... maybe you can find a way to attach it?

Just a "value" thought.
