Hi, I just installed my B&B resonator system. It is very nice but not as loud as I was anticipating. The only resonance is between 1300-1800 where it is a little buzzy. At highway speeds there is no resonance at all. I was looking for a nastier sound at idle and around town. I used to set off car alarms in my 993 with track pipes. I don't need to be that loud nor do I want to do anything at the expense of highway driveability. My only other mod is a CAI. I am in sales and do 20K/yr with the cruise set on 74mph. Would an X pipe be too buzzy? Any opinions? Loud is good. Resonance, buzz and pressure is bad. Any opinionswould be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

A seasoned (carboned up) x-pipe isn't all that much natistier for resonance compared to what you've got now. Plus the car alarm set-off potential is much higher with the X. :)

You three are gonna need a 'miracle ear' before long running that combo.

When I heard Chris' setup, and he reved it high, birds fell out of the sky and children cried.

Dave, don't even think twice about getting the X-pipe. I was in the exact same boat as you. I had the advantage of listening to both setups on DansCTS-V. I went with the X-pipe needing to still be somewhat civilized. The first miles I put on the exhaust was a trip to Indianapolis from Boston. That's before it got carboned and I did 15 hours without even thinking twice about the exhaust. At highway speeds, it's very civilized yet rumbles oh-so-nicely around town.

As for the resonance, it is second nature to keep it out of the 16-1900 range. And even if I lug it, once it's carboned up, it's really very subdued, easy on the ears. Add long tubes and WOW! It's not any louder decibel-wise but it is sinisterly deeper.
