Not to give to many details yet, but I've found another '93 Fleetwood after some searching that REALLY interests me--only problem is, it's 7 hours away in Attleboro, MA. Talked to the people selling it and they're sending me more pics on Mon. or Tues., but seeing pics and seeing the REAL car are two different things.

So, considering this is just a "curiously looking" kind of a deal this far, anybody live around the area who would be willing to do a look at/test of the car for me, if need be?

Really wish I hadn't found something so interesting to me this early (Spring '06 would be ideal), but it happened. Oh well...:D

Price, colors, options, mileage, etc. are ALL right--maybe I'll just have to go for it and rent out some storage space until May...

Okay thanks!

Still not sure either way, but if I do get serious and there's no one else closer, I'll let you know. Appreciate it!

yes let me know. I understand the boat your in, i wish i though of this for my Caddy i bought in Southern NJ.
No problem--again, VERY much appreciated. And if I do decide to go further with this, I would certainly reimburse you for the gas expense:thumbsup:

I REALLY wish this car was closer, because it would be SO much easier and I'd probably be more likely just to cut a check this minute--as is, it could work, but I'm still trying to find out a little more about the car before I do anything over a distance.

Then again, when I found my father the '69 Chevelle he wanted on the internet over 5 years ago, it was 4 hours away in northern NJ and he basically just talked to the seller back and forth several times, decided it really was what he wanted, and then just drove up on a Saturday with my mom, check in hand, and brought it home. That one went without a hitch.

Yep, sounds typical. Which is why I think "convincing the 'rents" to let me spend a few grand, even if it is my own, on something I've never really seen except for pictures might be a little dicey....

They've done it, but that's another story. Right now I'm still just barely past the mid-point of my fall semester in college and really wasn't planning to buy anything until I was done in May, but I have the $$$ now and if I find something, why not? Storage doesn't cost THAT much (not much room at home w/ 3 HUGE cars already)

Hmm....I'll let you know if I decide, one way or the other, and post more details when and if I get them (hopefully several pics by Mon./Tues.)

Oh, and another issue would be simply getting the car from there to lower DE if I go for it.

Shipping is one way and has some benefits (car can just be picked up and dropped, with no need to license/insure, etc. yet), but can be quite pricey on top of a relatively cheap car, and 7 hours isn't TOO bad of a driving time, I guess.

:helpless: ...the things a Cadillac makes you do....:worship:

Well MASS does NOT have temp plates. And you would want to register it and isure it. Dont take the chance. I got caught driving my 90 from NJ. I got off the hook (belive it or not) but its not worth the risk.

Shipping is posibility.
Driving it wouldnt be that bad.

Yeah, that's what I meant--if driven, you'd need plates, insurance, the whole works, but if shipping, all you need is to pay the transport fee, sign, and you're done. BUT, and the thing I keep going over in my mind, wouldn't it be kind of overkill to spend $600-700 to ship a car that's under $4k itself only about 375 miles? I could probably afford to do so, but just not sure what would be better, at least in my "odd" situation.

You are not alone. Last February, we drove round trip to Ocala Florida from Southern NJ to pick up the '82 Sedan Deville which was willed to my wife. Trailered the thing home pulling it with my '80 Fleetwood. Not much fun on the way back. Top speed was 50 mph due to weight distribution. My son will be driving it next year. First, I'm stealing the 500 out of it. The paint has not even burned off the engine yet.
