I've started a deep dive into this because my build is a completely black CT5V. Right from the start, the difference between the Premium Luxury, Sport and the V was:
On the V the grill is all black, the chrome around the windows is black and the small strip above the license plate area is black. Now the Sport takes it half way and blacks out the upper grill and around the windows but leaves the lower grill and above the license plate chrome. The Premium Luxury is chrome throughout.
BUT, when you get to the options page when building a PL or Sport, the onyx package adds a black grill, (or you can buy it as a option only for 650 bucks). Both the Premium Luxury and Sport go to an all black top and bottom grill when this is selected.
Switch to building a CT5V and it shows a black grill top and bottom from the start. When you got to the onyx package and look, a grill was never part of it. There is no grill option, either in the onyx package or stand alone.
To me that means the V is supposed to have a black grill surround top and bottom. But it is getting the same as the Sport grill. I'd bet either a shortage and these are the early assembly line models and they are putting Sport versions on them to get them out the door, or inadvertent assembly line mix up (have you ever seen some of the vehicles people post where one side of a vehicle has one option, like color matched handles, and the other side is black or chrome, lol)
If you go to Hawk Cadillac in Joilet IL website, he has actual pictures of a red and white 2025 V with lower chrome grills.
When I get mine, I'm going to press for that lower trim on the grill to be black. I don't want to paint it, I don't want to wrap it.
