I am buying an '06 CTS-V on Monday and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for break in, fluid changes etc. Also been reading alot about this wheel hop and the rear end clunk, has this issue been resolved with the '06 or is it something I am going to have to deal with too? Still a bushing issue? Any suggestions would be much appreciated :worship: (except ones that include letting you break it in for me).:tisk:

Dang it, I was going to volunteer...

Drive it like you have to make the payment on it, not like a rental car and you'll be fine.

It took me a while to get the shift smooth down, this car shifts like no other car I've ever driven. Work on smooth, the more smooth you put in the more smooth you get back... kinda like a woman you can take home to meet the family.:duck:

Many answers can be found in the FAQ and by searching the forum. You can become a supporting member of both to help pay for disk space and high-speed processors that deliver it all to us.

Some clunks are the nature of the beast and of some nusiance but generally benign. Very noticable clunks should be brought to the dealers attention. There have been reports of bad differential mount bushings and improperly torqued rear suspension cradles.

(I'll get flamed for this but...) The wheel hop is caused by the gobs of torqued produced by the engine being fed into an independent rear suspension built for road racing, not drag racing. As Denniscars says, smooth is the key. Road race cars do not like sudden inputs... makes them go ballistic and eventually off the track.

I'm not upset and like I said I did the obvious thing and searched the forums and I didnt see anything about wheather or not the wheel hop issue was still an issue with the '06 or not. I was thinking about becoming a supporting member but this doesnt seem like a very friendly place.

Indy

Don't take offense with stuff on this forum. Most members are solid and willing to help.

Welcome on board.

As for break in, easy does it with this car and any other car or mechanical device. If you spend any time on the forum, you'll recognize the guys who "drive it like you stole it".

Tony

BTW - Colts get whipped next week - bet on it

Once you post your first kill and you get past people saying the other guy wasn't trying or the stat whores numbers on why you should or shouldn't have won you'll be a mod whore like the rest of us... (why doesn't whores underline and give us links?)

Don't worry you got the newbie forum version of getting wedgied..

ace, I've recommended to Urb to have that clip mandatory viewing to newbies some time back. :D It's classic...

Wedgie accepted and pulling underwear out of crack now. :farting:

I think for a while I will keep the mods within the realm of not voiding my warranty. Doesnt a maggie void your warranty?
