Ok about 2 mths ago while at work i seriously cut my finger the length of it pretty deep, requiring four stitches. It has since "healed" however if i run my finger along it, i get a very weird tingling feeling almost like a tickle. I can move the finger just fine its just odd and rather bothersome when ever i brush something against it, it gives off these weird feeling. Is it still healing inside or something? Will this feeling be permanent? Thanks alot guys!

I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. But:

a - You may have some minor nerve damage and you'll live with it
b - There may still be healing going on inside and the feeling will go away
c - Stop playing with your finger or it will fall off and you'll go blind.

One of my friends at work fell in his neighbors yard, on grass, while chasing his escaped dog last Saturday. On Monday he was complaining about being really sore. He went to the Dr. and complained "It hurts when I do this" as he lifted his arm above his head. After looking at his X-ray, the doc said "Well, don't do that" - and keep your arm in a sling and don't ride your motorcycle for the next month. It seems he cracked his shoulder a bit. There's no surgery for it, but it just has to stay still and heal. He is hatin it because he had a short vacation planned to start on Thursday.
You are dying. Better send me your Cadillac for safe keeping. ;)
which one? i got three rofl
im not like worried about it in a scared sense, its just annoying ya know?
Nerve damage. It may or may not improve, and likely won't go away completely. If after a time it continues to bother you, medical/surgical options are available.
Rolex...that's your answer to everything! First my weapons...now his Cad! WTF? :p
Do you still have pain and temperature sensation on that finger?

If the finger looks good and has all mobility, it is a nerve issue.
should i go after them to "fix" it
it was a work accident and was covered under workmen's comp, so should i file that theres still an issue and have them correct it?

I think it was about 2 months ago now, I was at work putting a spring back onto a machine and it slipped off and went into my thumb, probably about 3/8 of an inch. Hurt like hell. It healed up and I had that tingling sensation you are talking about and it made it really hard to work on my car or do anything with that hand. I was really worried about it, but all those sensations have gone away. I know nothing about medical stuff, but just thought I'd share my experience with you.

You can, and should if your state laws allow it. That's what worker's comp is for.
A real man would just cut it off and cauterize the wound with gunpowder :D

;)

be glad jay its just a finger....I have nerve damage from one of my kidney transplants that has caused everything from my mid thigh down to m shin to go to sleep so to speak. It feels as if its falling alseep all the time and this is permanent damage for me. You never know if the nerve damage is just from it being pinched or severed. I would say in your case it is permanent being that it is a cut. Good news is you will get use to it.

God bless you! My mother is scheduled for her kidney transplant on July 25th, she has SLE that caused end stage renal failure. It is a grueling process and with my sister and I being in the medical field, a nightmare.. but I hope her life will turn around after the transplant.
I wish her the best! I had cadaver kidney that lasted three years then my brother gave me one and now I take maybe half the meds as normal and cret. levels better than normal so I am truly lucky. Some never even get one transplant. I had wegeners disease that damaged mine some years ago.
If you got any questions or if she has any fears that need eased PM me I am always glad to help and talk to kidney recipients or End stage patients.
Ugh, I got to learn all about ESRF when I worked for Amgen. No fun to live with that.

On a personal note for Jay: I had some numbness when I had my penis reduction surgery. Thank God the feeling came back, else I'd of just shot myself.
