I'm curious if there have been any run-ins yet. I've got a neighbor with an '05V and I'm itching to see how my '06 does against him but with 6" of snow on the roads it wouldn't make for a very interesting race. Any '04/'05 Vs run against a C6 or '05 GTO?

How would we know out on the road if we are driving an 04/05 and we were to be next to an 06? Is there any body changes or any other visual that would tip off an 06?

06 vs 05

06 has:
GM badging on the front quarter panel... (behind the front wheels)
Black Center caps on the wheels...
Must have a sunroof...
RSA tires (not F1s)

If you get under the hood you will see the strut tower brace is different...

Also, the owner will have a bigger smile from 10-30 but a smaller smile at above 70 mph due to the LS2 engine... hee hee... (just trying to add to the "skirmish")

Is that the conventional preliminary assessment that the LS2 should handle the LS6 on the bottom end but that the LS6 should make up ground as the speeds get higher?

Based on this it sounds like the LS2 should get through the quarter a little quicker?

I doubt it. The LS6 superior top end will win IMO. The LS6 CTS-V consistently beat the LS2 GTO (obviously different cars of course).

I think the LS2 might feel more powerful in every day driving but in a balls out race I will put my money on the LS6 (for now).

I was a within one second of my race tire shod V at Nelson Ledges with the replacement LS2 GTO. I didn't have to down shift for the tighter areas to get in the power...it was there in the LS2. :)

Also the F1s are optional so not all will be RSAs.
