I don't know if you guys have heard about this, but the Washington Wizards draft pick was shot in an attempted carjacking. It happened a few days ago, and the bullet missed his heart by about 1inch. It happened near D.C. (in a pretty good neigborhood in alexandria, VA) and I just found out he was in a brand new escalade.

Here is an article about it:

Here is a quote from Andray, in a different article.
Blatche said he didn't know if the carjackers targeted him because he was a young athlete, presumably with money. The car he was riding in was a Cadillac Escalade, which he had purchased "a couple days ago."

He had probably been drinking. It was 6:30 am on sunday, which means they had probably been out all night. Just a guess.

Yeah they had this on NBA.COM as well didnt say it was an escalade. I am actually happy to be putting my stock rims back on. After hearing every month about another escalade getting taking. Still cant wait to see the new escalades with the hopefully great security. NBA.COM said that the injured player will not ruin his career.

Ehh, I wouldn't get your hopes up for a great factory alarm. But there is always the aftermarket, but even then if someone wants your car/truck it's theres.

Yeah he was released from the hospital and everything already. He is walking, and could be back to playing in about a month. He needs his lungs to heal, as well as his wrist (the bullet passed through his wrist).

I just think it's a shame, and thats why I posted it. The kid is 19 years old and about to live his dream, and along comes some peice of $hit and tries to take that all away from him. Be careful in your truck!
