Hey Guys!

I wanna introduce you my new selfmade exhaust System, powered by Flowmaster!

Benchmark is my old BWM 545i which has also a selfmade ex-System with 2x Flowmaster Super 44 in the rear and 2x HP2 in the front, pics are here:

Sound is here:

And now, it will sounds like this:

Installed are 2x 3" Flowmaster origin 40 Series with special plated case in truly rustless 304 stainless steel not that crappy 409S which looks like standard steel after 2 season in winter with snow and salt (look at the pics above on 545i !) and Resonator delete, no X- or H-pipe, tips are 160x95mm Audi RS6 style shiny black sprayed!

Now i have much drone inside the cabin between 1200-2000, which surprise, i know... :-(

Thinking of installing a drone-cone like the vortex, in the HP2 on BMW there are some double cones inside and i get not only one drone inside, but he is better isolated then the Caddi, that helps also a lot i think, someone have experiences to get rid of that f**ing drone tone?

Best regards,
Ronald

Putting the resonator/cross-over back into the system will undoubtedly help a lot. Or pick up a generic X-pipe and put it into the system where the factory resonator/cross-over was; an X-pipe without the resonator won't help as much, but it should help with some of the drone.

Thanks for the hint, but i let x-pipe or Resonator deliberately outside to get the maximum on V8 Sound, one of the most reason, why i bought this car!

X- or H-Pipe are good for non drone or power/torque in the mid range, but not for the real V8 Sound, thats my conclusion since 4 years of developing my BMW exhaust in 4 stages of expansion and i believe, the same come true to the LS engine until someone show me the opposite of it...

I will try to build in some vortex cones or extremely build a helmholtz Resonator at the last step, but first of all, i uses some magnaflows in the front, likes this once here:

But they don´t help with the drone noise, it´s the same like before, it makes all a little bit quieter, not longer this high metallic crying sound and popping when shifting is also smarter then before, but you wouldn´t gain friends in the neighborhood, when you start up early at 6 in the morning, a lot of pensioner here and a small town, where i was born and everyone knowes me, that too makes things more difficult!

Last option is to put in also magnas in the rear, they lie down to my feet and were planned to my frist setup, but after hearing some YouTube vids with complete magna System on board, i cancelled this idea, bec they were all to quiet, someone comments it "a little bit louder then origin", but i think, they all have the Resonator or X-pipe in it, that was the main reason, why they are so quiet, i think?!

Next time, i make some vids on the same place to hear the different w/ magnas in the front of the System...

Best regards,
Ronald
