I want to put a dual looking exhaust setup on my 1993 Deville. What the newer Devilles look like, with a pipe on each side of the muffler. I've been told my the service rep. at Flowmaster, that for that look, I would have to get a 80 series muffler. I was hoping for a 50 series, becuase I have a 80 on my Z28 and it's almost too loud. I want the Caddy to have an agressive tone on accleration, but not all the time. Does anyone here run an 80 on their car? I was told a resonator would help a lot as far as the noise level went. Thanks for you help.

I'd just like to second the motion that the 50 series seems to be best for what us Caddy drivers tend to like. The 40 series has too much interior resonance, but the 50 series is supposed to be good, i.e. not an obnoxious idle, low interior resonance, and a powerful acceleration.

i have a flowmaster 40 series delta flow on my 87 deville, it is not loud inside at all with the tunes completly off. I was going to go with what u want, but i bought the wrong muffler, it looks like the 80, but 1 goes in, 2 come out one side, and it only goes one way on flowmasters. Who cares, i installed it anyway, 2 pipes out the passenger side, sounds nice, looks nice. I will be posting a video of my car accelerating next week.

Do a search for my exhaust clips in the forum.

hasn't been mentioned yet....

one of the best, IMO mufflers for the 4.9 Cad is the Edelbrock #5519. It is single intlet, dual outlet Camaro style. I makes the 4.9 sound very good (not droning like Flowmaster) and pretty quiet at idle and crusing speed from within the car. It also frees up some power.

When I get around to swapping out my muffler, thats what I am getting.

I use the 80 series on my '91 Seville as well. It's not that bad, but I do prefer the fact that I have two other Caddy's running much quieter when I don't want to here the drone.

Soon I am going to have two mufflers because I'm going for a dual pipe cat-back system. This way, I'll have a good choice of other mufflers I want to use.
