a few questions for anyone who's come across more specific info, I've spoken with dealers and they don't seem to know:

1) There are 2 alternators spec'd for Caddys of this vintage KG9 and K98. My car should be using a KG9 alternator (based on VIN). All aftermarket alternators either come with a 57mm or 62mm pulley. The dealer said the K98 specficially states it has a 57mm pulley. This leads me to believe I need one of the aftermarkets with a 62mm. I know I can reuse pulley however I've been burning out alternators every 6 months to 2 years religously since my shop put the first aftermarket one in and I am so damn sick of changing these things out.

2) My power steering pump is whining away. I'm going to swap it out as well and want to know if an aftermarket unit will affect the variable rate steering or if that's independent of the P/S pump and regulated via an external regulator? If it is pump specific, anyone have the correct P/N for either an OEM Delco unit or an aftermarket?

3) My car has the oil cooler lines running into the pass side of the radiator end tank, where can I get these lines? Dealer only? I was thinkin of running braided stainless instead...

4) My trans pan gasket is weeping a bit, if I drop it, I've heard of people having some of the check balls and other bits drop out, is this because they're removing/replacing other parts like the valve body? Also, If I replace the filter, I heard there's a kit that has new parts, is this dealer only?

The check balls are in the valve body. The filter is deep in the trans and only gets changed with a tare down. There are two cleanable and reusable screens. Likewise, the gasket is reusable.
