Have '99 Eldo ESC - just changed front struts - getting confusing advice on the need for new alignment?
Should I have the front end aligned? I do have expensive Michelins on the car.

The 2 knuckle bolts that connect the bottom of the strut to the lower control arm are loosened as part of an alignment. Since you had to remove them, the car needs an alignment.

4-point alignment at a GOOD shop. Our FWD vehicles are very finicky about correct alignment, toe-in (front and rear), caster, camber, rear height control.

EDIT: If the car will not track dead straight on a level road - hands off the wheel - you need alignment.

Agreed... I found out my alignment was way out for a long time since the car always pulled to one side and was told by various places it was aligned correctly.
I just put new Goodyear Comfort Ride tires on last year and the place couldn't believe how far off it was and properly aligned it. The car rides great, takes bumps quietly, and no longer pulls to one side.
So go to a good shop as Sub said!
