As many do, my Alcantara seat inserts look terrible, especially the drivers and passenger seats. After many unsuccessful attempts to repair them, I tried the following:

I bought a device designed to remove "pills" from sweaters made by Evercare called a Fabric Shaver. They are available at many stores including Walmart.

I took off the supplied plastic sleeve on the cutter blades to get the cutting surface closer to the Alcantara surface. After brushing both direction with a suede brush, I began a back and forth and circular motions across the surface. I could here the blades cutting and immediately noticed an improvement. After 10-15 minutes of this, alternating direction and with varying pressure, my inserts look exponentially better.

That's awesome! I've been looking for a fix to my suede for a long time. Thanks for this. Gonna give it a shot.
