Then you'll never get the air out. It's being pumped in through a breach in the head gasket.

well it does it once every 2 or 3 months, then i fill the tank and run the engine for a while and usually it seems to run good again for a while.

That does not sound like a head gasket. What are your symptoms? Have you had it tested to determine that the head gaskets are bad?

i've been losing coolant but no puddle on ground, took it to dealer because i had no heat and vehicle was overheating. dealer did replace the tank cap. mechanic "burped" the system and took it for a ride but the heat still wasn't good enough and mechanic said it probably was headgasket. no real test yet though.

Hmm, those could be HG symptoms. I'd get a test kit from NAPA and test the coolant for exhaust gases to be sure.

think i'll get that tomorrow, but if it is the HG how can i get that air out just so i can get to jake. i don't think it's that bad of problem yet like i said i can usually ride for about 2 or 3 months till it overheats again.

Like I said it is self purging. Air is automatically purge from the system via the purge line. The problem is that if it is a HG, the engine just keeps pumping more air in.
